3 Sales Tips for Intro-preneurs

As an introvert, sometimes we don’t want to push for the close. We may feel it is uncomfortable for ourselves or the prospect. Does any of that resonate with you? If so, here are some tips on how to succeed in sales despite being an introvert.

  1. Believe in the product or company that you are working with or creating. You have to believe in the company 100% because you will be sharing it with others. If it’s something that you can’t get behind, it makes it so much harder to speak about. For instance, if the company was helping raise funds for impoverished children and their mission was to help end it, that would be simple to get behind if you have a heart for children. If, instead, the company was all about the bottom dollar and a bad reputation for illegal practices, it makes it a lot harder to be passionate about them. It sounds simple, but it’s key to believe in the product or company you align yourself with.

  2. Take yourself out the picture. The item you are selling, the idea, or the product is not for you. It is meant to help someone else solve a problem. If you don’t speak up about it, or share it, then how would it be able to do its job to help others? Take the pressure off yourself by reminding yourself of all the people you will help through the product or service. It is all about benefiting others and solving their problems.

  3. You can’t help them all. There’s an old saying that you can lead a horse to the well, but you can’t force it to drink the water. Well, that is true in our case as well. Even if we have the solution that will solve their problem, not everyone will recognize they need the solution. Some people say no to everything, some people need time, and others are ready and looking for a solution. Don’t be down if some say no or are not ready. Just keep hustling and you’ll come across plenty who are looking for your solution. For the others, follow up and they may be ready sooner than you think.
