Business is Tough? Check Your Foundation.
Doesn't it sometimes feel like when you take one step forward, you're taking two steps back? When you feel this way, you must check your foundation. Your foundation requires discipline. If you have a weak foundation, it will be noticed, and you will feel the adverse effects. I'm sure you know that your business will only be as active as your foundational discipline, but now you are wondering what that means? You are even wondering what part of your foundation requires the most discipline.
You know what? This article is for you; the person who knows that you can use some guidance from a mentor who has a strong foundation. Because this article is meant specifically for you, the reader. You will learn three areas where you MUST master discipline to keep your foundation strong and continuously improve your business.
Discipline with Your Money. As an entrepreneur and business coach, it's my obligation to remind you that if you want to be successful in business, you must have a budget. You must be able to keep track of your business and personal expenses. Many times over, I have seen multiple entrepreneurs go into desperation mode when they go broke. It's required of our members to all have a budget mapped out and planned. You must have a financial plan, or you're planning to be broke or stagnant.
Discipline with Your Time. This is a big one, especially for entrepreneurs. Many newer entrepreneurs have a sense of freedom and time. When I first went into business for myself, I realized how difficult it is to be your own boss. That's why many entrepreneurs hire a business coach. A business coach will help to hold you accountable and make sure you are using your time wisely. Once we help someone with their time management, you will be able to fit in exercise, prospecting, networking, business and personal development, and quality time for friends, family, and other loved ones.
Discipline with Your Focus. If you want a strong foundation and want to reach success in business, you must have the discipline to stay focused on your goals. Over and over again I see it in social media, and I hear it through conversation; "I'm going to try this, or that." If you are this person, you are not alone. Many others have fallen victim to "Shiny Object Syndrome." All in all, being able to recognize when you are losing focus and straying from your goals, will help to prevent you from weakening your foundation and eventually toppling over.
So with that being said, my friends. Success in life and business all starts with your foundation. Many entrepreneurs just like you have all felt lost in this area, but now you know which areas to focus on the most. Once you master discipline in these areas, you are guaranteed to have a strong foundation, which you can now build a successful business upon.
