DO YOU OWN YOUR BODY?

Do you own your body?

Many times, people think that their body is just a tool,  like your car. When you want to go somewhere, you start the engine and drive to the destination.

Once you get there, you turn it off and keep on going with your life, while your car stays nicely parked somewhere.

But your body is much more than that, your body is what allows you to stay alive, to fulfill your dreams, to love, to make love, to feel emotions and much more.

It is pretty simple, without your body, you wouldn't even exist.

We live life once, every single second of every day.

I want to share with you 7  ways to honor your body, allowing yourself to live life to the fullest, embracing the “whole being” you are.

1. ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR BODY: “Stop driving it and start inhabiting it.”

Own it, like if you really belong there. Listen to your body, what does it need from you? What is it asking for? Maybe it needs more time off, a vacation, a visit to the doctor or the dentist. Your body must be one of your top priorities. Believe me, you need it to be alive!

2. BE FULLY PRESENT:

Work on yourself to find ways to be connected to what you feel in your body, it can be through meditation, affirmations, breathing techniques, and others. For most people, it’s easier to stay in their minds, but that is not enough to live a full life. You need to have a full body-mind-spirit connection to be a whole.

3. FOOD: “Choose wisely.”

You are what you eat. Ingesting the right food can provide you with high power and energy, which will result in a positive attitude towards life. There are many diets, but none of them will work on a long-term basis if you don’t implement it as your way of living. Learn to listen to your body, and it will tell you what’s best for you. Believe in the wisdom that lives inside of yourself.

Like Gennen Roth said: “The way you eat is inseparable from your core beliefs about being alive. Your relationship with food is an exact mirror of your feelings about love, fear, anger, meaning, and transformation”.

4. YOU KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU:

Many times we fool ourselves by taking the easy path, fast food, fast cooking, fast eating, whatever is on the way... We even listen to other’s opinions before wondering what is it that we want. You know what you need, listen to your own wisdom, search inside of yourself, and you will have all your answers. Take the time to figure it out.

5. EMBRACE YOUR FEELINGS:

There are not good or bad feelings. Feelings are feelings, and when you deny any of them, your body reacts. Something happens inside of you when you resist what you are feeling. Disease happens when we block ourselves and our uniqueness, when we dis-ease, as simple as that. Telling your body, it’s ok to feel what you are feeling is a great way to start the healing process.

6. DO SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU FEEL ALIVE:

Dance, sing, walk on the beach, look at the stars, kiss, hug, FEEL with every cell of yourself. You are alive! You are precious! You are a Miracle! Save time every day to stay in that sacred presence of yourself.

7. TREAT YOUR BODY AS A TEMPLE:

You are made of stardust, you are the creator of your life. This whole world was created for you and by you. OWN IT! Your body is precious, it is perfect, it is beautiful. Start your day by talking to that marvelous creation in your mirror and say out loud: I LOVE YOU, LET’S CREATE THE BEST LIFE EVER.
