Excuses Are For The Weak
Stop letting obstacles be your excuses for not being successful. More times then I can count I have said some bullshit excuse for why I can't do something that I know will help my business. I've convinced myself things would be too hard, that it would take too long, that I didn't have enough time. If you can think of an obstacle, I can almost guarantee that I have convinced myself it would stop me. But not anymore. What I had to learn was how to stop making my "obstacles" worse, by believing them! So today, I want to share three of my most common "obstacles" and why they are total bullsh*t.
I don't have enough time to...
do what I want.
build a business.
go out and network.
take on that project.
So here is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me god: You have exactly the same amount of time as Elon Musk, Ben Franklin, and Jesus himself. What is actually happening is you aren't making "it" (whatever it is) a priority in your life. When you say, "I want to budget, but it's so hard to not go to the bar with my friends." What you are really saying is, "Spending time with my friends is just more important than my future and security." Stop giving yourself the easy way out, confront what you're saying, and figure out if you like your priorities as they are, or if they need to change.
I don't know how...
Remember when you didn't know how to add 12+12? How far do you think you would have made it in life if you would have given up then and not learned anything else? Congrats! You have the ability to learn so much in this world! We live in a time where you can Google anything, there is literally a book on everything, and you can learn it! You aren't actually any less smart than an astrophysicist, you just haven't learned everything they have yet, BUT you can if you want to! Now I'm not telling you to go out and study astrophysics but hopefully learning how to speak on stages seems a little more possible now.
I don't make enough money...
As a girl who has lived off of 400 a month before (and not just for one month) I can tell you there are plenty of people doing more with less. If you really needed money, you would go find it. The real problem is that you are too comfortable to change. What is really happening is that you are allowing yourself to be all talk and no action.
So you want to hear the one secret to not letting any obstacle stop you?
Choose not to let it stop you. Decide your budget is more important than your friends. Choose to read the book on marketing instead of watching Netflix. Choose to go out and find the money instead of going to bed.
But most of all, just decide they aren't obstacles. You got this!
