Fear to Faith

All my life I struggled with self-doubt, self-confidence, and moving in faith. I grew up as the only child and was always confined to my home. When it was time to move out of the house, it was a massive reality for me to face, I no longer had the protection of my parents as I did when living in the household. Now it was time for me to take the step to learn to be the person God has created me to be.

When I went to college, I met the man of my dreams, Stephen Dela Cruz. He was such a go-getter. When we graduated, we became Youth Pastors at a Brazilian Church in San Francisco, CA. He lead the youth group, did the preaching and developed a leadership team. I was always the one who was hiding behind the scenes helping out. I always had a fear to step out. So one day he decided to push me without me being prepared. He came to me and said you are going to do the sermon tonight. I freaked out. When it was time for me to go up, my hands were sweating, I started to tremble walking up, and when I spoke, I burst out in tears out of fear. By the end of the speech, I ran off humiliated.

After a few days of cooling off, the great feedback I got from people how my speech impacted them changed my life. I grew a little more confident and began to have a desire not to just speak in the church, but to become a motivational speaker to the nations around me. That started the journey of facing my fear one step at a time and am still in the process of facing my fear. I have learned that fear is the only thing that will hold you back from being the person that God has called you to be. It takes faith to be able to move into the unimaginable destiny planned for you. So face your fears!
