From The Jailhouse To The Penthouse
Stephen Dela Cruz is now the owner of San Diego’s #1 business coaching and mastermind program according to Entrepreneur magazine. But it wasn't always like that. At sixteen years old Stephen was sent to juvenile hall for stabbing someone. The judge had to decide between sentencing as a minor with self-defense, or as an adult for attempted murder. Thankfully for Stephen, the Judge decided to try him as a minor. Although the sentence was much lighter than the alternative the next few years would be constant counseling, group homes, and the most important part, finding a mentor.
The thing that changed Stephen's life was when the judge told him that he must find a court-appointed mentor. This had to be someone outside of the judicial system, but the judge gave one warning.
“Be careful who you choose, because who you choose is eventually what you will become.”
So naturally, Stephen found the most wealthy person he knew and started his journey and his mentorship.
Now Stephen owns multiple multi-million dollar corporations and is continuing to build his mentorship program. Stephen spent so long cutting his teeth in business to get where he has today, and now he wants to share the three most important keys he has found in building a successful business.
Take Action Now!
The number one thing Stephen sees in his coaching program with new members is a lack of focused action. When building a new business it is important to make the right decision, it's more important to make a decision and then make it right. When you get caught in analysis paralysis, you stop making any progress in your business and personal life. In fact, you actually fall even further behind, because as you struggle to take action others around you are still moving forward, which can leave you behind in the dust. But you don’t have to get left behind, all you have to do is take action!
Change your Circle of influence
It's often said that you are the average of the five people you hang around most. Who are you spending the most time around? Getting yourself into a group of other entrepreneurs that can mastermind, build on your business, and help stretch you further will help you start to create more impact. If you are around negativity, belittlement or people that just don't understand what it means to hustle, it can leave you feeling drained. But on the other side, being around positivity, with people that believe in you, and understand why you are pushing so hard, can help push you even further and allow you to make your dreams come true faster.
Find a Mentor
This is the number one thing that impacted Stephens life. Without Stephens mentor, his life would be drastically different. By finding a mentor Stephen was able to shake off his beliefs, find his passion, and build passive income businesses so he could focus on giving back to the entrepreneurship community. You have the ability to avoid the mistakes that others have made before you and essentially learn the roadmap to success! You have the ability to be massively successful in the right direction and the right actions! Don’t allow yourself to get caught up in the I can do it myself mentality, find someone that can help and collaborate so you can build your success.
Through these three steps, you will find success in your business and in your life. But everything is reliant on you if you don’t take action if you don’t change your circle, and if you don’t find a mentor, ask yourself are you really serious about your success? Taking just one step towards these keys proves that: yes, you are serious about your success, and, yes, you are ready to make a massive impact in this world! So go out there, and start living a life of income with impact and success with significance.
