Give More Value Even If It’s Free
Where do we begin? In the beginning of my career as a social media marketer, I was always told to “get paid before you do any work because doing it for free just won’t cut it.” Although that’s partially true, I think there is way more value in providing your services for free in the beginning. People will see what your worth is and it gives you the opportunity to show off your skills. That’s what I did at the beginning of the year 2018. However, I did have clients who paid for my services, I had some that were free, and in exchange, I had their products or services. There is nothing wrong with giving your services or products for free at first, but don’t do it for too long because people will love to take advantage of it.
Call me crazy, but if you’re starting out in your industry as an entrepreneur on your own….charge free. Unless you’re in real estate then ok, I understand. The thing is you want to attract people to your business and tell them the good news about your industry. Just imagine that when you offer some things free, word of mouth will spread when your product or services ACTUALLY deliver.
Who’s life are you changing? What problems are you solving? When you find the solution to someone’s problem, you are impacting on someone’s life with value. I have a social media marketing company, and the problem I solve is for small business owners who don’t have time to be on the computer promoting their business. That’s my job! Think of the values you are giving and ask yourself this question, are you leading with value? Because if you’re not, then you want to start now and start solving your ideal customers’ problems.
We all have something special inside of us that helps other people's’ lives get better. We don’t need to be a rocket scientist to solve a person’s problem. Just an idea!
