Obstacles. Spectacles.

Avoiding pain and challenges was my everyday goal. I remember only doing things that I was good at; wearing clothing that were comfortable like sweatpants and sneakers (was not appealing at all) — only choosing associations that are "good." I thought this was the dream life - problem-free... Content. I was in a coma, a life coma, and I didn't even know it.

To make sure that I don't go back into a zombie/coma mode of living life, I first had to acknowledge that life is an obstacle, a rollercoaster, and then look at life from a spectacle perspective.

Prescription glasses:

"Challenges are gifts that force us to search for a new center of gravity. Don't fight them. Just find a new way to stand." - Oprah

I started losing my 20/20 vision when I started using the computer, and to see clearly I needed prescription glasses. Our experiences in life will either blur our vision or help us to see the world more clearly. Figuring out life by learning and doing is the prescription we must choose to see through in every opportunity.

Clean lens and filters:

"If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." - Wayne Dyer

What you focus on expands. If we see the challenges in life as roadblocks, then they will be. At times, maybe all we need is to clean off the dust on our glasses and see things in a new light. One way to instantly see things differently is by asking these questions, "What do I need to learn here?" "What are the options?" "What's a better way?" "How can this work?" When you ask yourself these questions, suddenly opportunities arise.

New prescription:

"You create your own opportunities." - Anonymous.

We come to a point where we've gotten our prescription glasses, cleaned them, and still, we can't see clearly. Then we start getting headaches, this for sure gives me a heads up that I need to get my eyes rechecked. One of the most amazing powers we all have available to us is CHOICE. If we don't see what's possible, it's up to us to create the opportunity for ourselves. If you can think it, you truly can achieve it!

May we now see obstacles as an essential part of life that will help us grow to become a better version of ourselves every day. Now, put those new spectacles on, you'll see better, feel better, and look better! ;)
