Tips For Taking Yourself Above The Bar

Take it a step higher!! Do more!! Get better!! All motivational thoughts and statements that pertain to doing more and becoming better in some form or fashion. So often when wanting to increase our own bandwidth and skill sets, we wonder what the steps to leveling up our personal and entrepreneurial game should be.

When I first started on my journey as an entrepreneur, I didn’t really have the resources in front of me to have success nor the group of people to show me the right way or path, which led to a slow start for sure. The following 3 tips are ones that have helped me take myself both personally and professionally to the next level:

I have mentioned this time and time again, but it is one of the biggest things that holds people back when they are working on bettering themselves in entrepreneurship or just personally. CHANGE YOUR FRIENDS OR CHANGE YOUR FRIENDS!!!  You cannot expect to have personal breakthroughs and become a more independent and postured person if you continue to hang around people that don’t support you, lift you up, or want better for you. This isn’t easy to do, but it is fundamentally the most important thing you can do for yourself.

Study other Entrepreneurs!! In school we were always taught, don’t copy the person next to you because that is cheating!! The beautiful thing about successful people and other Entrepreneurs is that they want to share how they have navigated the road themselves so you can skip their shortfalls. However, being coachable is the other side of this coin, if someone has something you want in life, listen to how they got it.  Don’t try and reinvent the wheel.

Read, read, and read some more! I can guarantee that you could quantify how successful someone is in some capacity by the size of his or her library!! Every successful person I know has two unique traits: they don’t stop learning and don’t stop reading!! I am constantly spending time reading books and listening to audios, what I put into my mind had a direct correlation to what the results of my efforts ended up being.

Additionally on top of reading: Personal Development beyond reading is also, in my opinion, a cherry on top but quintessential to my own success. I have invested tens of thousands of dollars on my own personal development whether that be in books, audios, private development events or professional coaching programs. Getting an additional boost on your mentality and those influencers in your life can be the catalyst to you having true and monumental success.

Taking yourself to the next level and ‘leveling up’ your personal and professional game is essential to any kind of continued success but it has to be intentional!! One has to be continually committed to themselves and bettering their skillset, mindset, and willingness to learn from their mistakes and listen to the viewpoints of others to truly level up!
